Any good designer should be responsible for the clarification of design as a process, not in a blunt, direct way to the Client, but to keep it in mind at all times. Although based on the different topic of 'sites needing redesigns and hiring a pro for the job', my recent article also mentions this point, essentially: "Yes, sites can be static, but we don’t live in a static world. " and... "Good web design will not only address your immediate needs but should accommodate some of your goals for the future too."
