Reset Friday

by Matt Brown

Recently, I’ve stopped scheduling client work on Fridays, especially in the late afternoon.  Instead, I’ve started to reserve much of the day as a ‘reset’ — a block of time to catch up on all the non-billable, non-design work that’s piled up over the week (stuff like invoicing, banking, project management, scheduling, file/resource management, writing, sales and marketing).

Condensing these tasks into a continuous block of time increases my productivity and flow, sets me up for an awesome weekend, and gives me a clean slate for next week.

Sorry, we're not taking on new projects.

In early 2011 we joined the design team at Facebook, where we now work full-time. To keep up with us, check out the Brown Blog or follow @brownthings and @ticjones!
